Anime Challenge Day 23: Favorite attack someone used in an anime

Hiei’s Dragon of the Darkness Flame (Yu Yu Hakusho)

darkness-flamedarkness-flame-2

This is one of the most interesting attacks that I’ve seen in anime.  It is the literally summoning of black flames from the depths of demon world itself.  Hiei uses his own spirit energy as a lure.  It could be as basic as just an energy wave that can disintegrate people against a wall to something that can fly around a stadium murdering people as it heads for its target in the form of a dragon.  It’s cool and flashy and everything.  A not as powerful demon needs to sacrifice a limb or something to something like a sword handle to summon it.  A much more powerful one only needs their energy because they have the energy to summon without a sacrifice.  Consumption is also possible with terrifying results for the nearby victim.

  1. Nice pick!

One of my favourite abilities also. I was blown away when I first saw the attack. It was awesome.

Nice, but it hardly outshines the brute power any of a number of other anime attacks bring to bear on the enemy. I chose two attacks (first I picked one, then I updated to pick another), both by Usopp on One Piece, both using mad skills and gear to deliver psychological attacks that made the enemy faint. …hmmm, I wonder what that says about me.
