Continuing my super hero theme for some reason, is my anime Justice League. This is somewhat an idea brought influenced by Derek Lyon’s Avengers post, but this is DC inspired, so it’s completely different. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I’ve been a DC fan ever since I watched Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, and the two Justice League series. Of course, there are other things like Young Justice and Green Lantern the animated series which are also great. I love Marvel too, but I know about heroes more because of the films then animated stuff. This post isn’t based on the modern Justice League thing that we are going to see on film soon, this is based on the animated version. I hope that I do them justice by giving these characters ok anime counterparts. I’m going to try to pick more unconventional choices.
The main trio:
This is the core group of the Justice League, the main trio of leadership. I have to get these three right at least.
-Superman
-All Might (My Hero Academia)
This one is obvious. It’s All Might, preferably the version that hasn’t been wounded. He’s the pure hero that Superman should be. He just fits this spot to a T.
-Wonder Woman
Bishamon (Noragami)
Bishiamon is a god. An incredibly powerful one and an amazing female character that needs more attention. She fits this spot easily in my mind. I mean, it’s not like she comes from an island of amazons, but I can’t think of an anime character that does at the moment.
-Batman
Major Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in Shell)
I have to argue this one in my head a few times and I finally decided it had to be Motoko. I know that there is an obvious choice like Hei from Darker then Black who is Chinese Electric Batman, but I went with the Major. She has Batman’s detective skill, stealth, and fighting ability. She’s also a great hacker.
-The Speedster
Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho)
When I think of fast anime characters, Hiei is the only one that I can think of. One of his crazy abilities has also been how fast he can slice an enemy. He’s just too good. Hiei is a trouble maker compared to the rest of this group, so I wonder how he would interact with these people.
-The Green Lantern
Sousuke Sagara (Fullmetal Panic)
I had to think about this a lot, so I am stretching this one a little too far probably. At some point, Sousuke Sagara pilots a robot that is powered through imagination. The Lambda Driver. Of course, Sousuke’s imagination is as wide as a pile bricks, but it’s still there. Also, since the Green Lantern on the show was in the military, Sousuke fits that spot perfectly.
-Hawkgirl
Misaka Mikoto (Index/Railgun Series)
I don’t have any solid reasoning here, I just wanted to add Misaka to this list. She’s just awesome and deserves a spot on here. Hawkgirl is awesome and a strong female character and so is Misaka. There, done.
-Martian Manhunter
Tatsumaki (One Punch Man)
The main thing I was looking for in this slot was a character with strong psychic abilities. I don’t think I am going to find that whole “last of their kind” and “alien” part very easily, so that’s what I went with. Tatsumaki is that stronger ESP character that I’ve ever seen. She is also a veteran in combat and knows how to deal with different sets of situations that will show up during combat.

Looking at this list, I think that these characters would interact pretty well with each other. I also think that these characters working together would save a lot of people in a wide variety of situations together. What would your special super hero team look like?
The only thing really Avengers inspired in mine was borrowing the battle cry because it made for a nicely alliterative title. 🙂
This is an interesting concept for building a team though. I must admit I didn’t concentrate on roles as much as I should have. I laughed a little when I got to Misaka on your list, because I did the same thing… went through some mental gyrations to include a character I badly wanted to include.
And thanks for the link and the mention!

She’s just too awesome not to include.
And you are welcome!

oooh! I’m going to have to do copycat this sometime! 😉
I know my first pick, though, easily: for Superman, Goku. The alien who fell to Earth as a baby, survivor of a dead planet and people, ultra-powerful, and a walking incarnation of virtue.
