Make it Anime Tag – My Turn!

One of these days, I will figure a way to do all of these tag posts on a better time schedule. I’m always bad at doing them on time because I put more focus on my stuff considering that is what I have the time to do. Still, this tag post is very creative and a lot of fun. A massive thanks to Joe for creating this fun tag! He has a blog that is after my own heart with giant monster and anime content, so give it a look. Once again, thank you for tagging me. Onto the tag!

2) Choose 1 Book, Movie, and TV show of your choice that you think could work as an anime. (A series of books or movies is allowed e.g. Lord of the Rings, Hunger Games)

Book: The Mortal Engines

This is a fun book that I’ve been reading recently and it’s been a lot of fun. I know that it got a movie adaptation recently, but it’s immediately clear that we got isn’t anywhere close to what should have been made a movie. The chapters are too short and too fast to get a grasp of what a movie should do. It’s written a lot like the hobbit in that each chapter has a different story with the same characters. There is something in here that could make a two cour adventure anime. With The moving cities on tracks with laser weaponry, the apocalyptic setting, the characters with tragic backstories who are orphans, the wastelands, and the focus on airships, this book series says anime all over it. I’m shocked that nobody has done anything with this yet.

Movie: A Man Called U.N.C.L.E.

Ok, this selection was just from looking at my house’s movie shelf. (Yes, I know it was a tv show from years ago. Since nitpickers.) Non the less though, I think anime is in need of another spy series in the vain of Joker Game or possibly even less grounded then that. I mean, this is a spy movie very in the vain of James Bond with the billionaire evil villains plotting world domination one way or another. I’m honestly surprised this hasn’t been made into an anime yet. A Man called U.N.C.L.E. has the goofy plot, the goofy and relatable characters, and pure aesthetics to propel it into being an interesting anime.

TV Series: Farscape

Once again, I’m honestly shocked this isn’t an anime either. It’s one of my most favorite, weird science fiction TV series I’ve ever watched and it’s practically an anime already. Let’s start easy. First of all, the show is an isekai because John Crichton was taken from the Earth through a wormhole to a sector of space that he doesn’t understand and yet it’s destiny to save the universe. Second, what about the odd amount of alien races with multiple arms, completely different color skin colors, foreheads, and other things? What about the fact that some space ships that are living beings which give birth to other spaceships? Once again, there is all the tragic backstory things that anime have as well with unique filler episodes that are some of the strangest things you will ever see on television. WHY ISN’T FARSCAPE AN ANIME ALREADY? DOES JAPAN NEED ME TO THROW MONEY IN THEIR GENERAL DIRECTION?
