I’m not watching a lot of seasonal at this point, but I am enjoying them quite a bit. School work has pushed my seasonal watchlist to a smaller amount and I am honestly fine with that. Especially since each show is pretty powerful and fun in their own right.
I have dropped Elaina and Haikyuu for different reasons. Elaina for reasons that will appear later this week and Haikyuu because the visuals and pacing just infuriate me. To me, the smart thing is just to not watch them anymore so I don’t constantly whine about them to people. That has a habit of infuriating people and not a fan of that.
So let’s get to those seasonal anime things.
A Handy Guide for how I feel about shows:
Solid: Seasonal Favorites, Highly Recommend.
Good: Maybe not as high quality as the first category, but still pretty enjoyable.
Ok: What it says on the tin. Maybe preferable for those who are into the genre the show is from.
Bad: I’m not even sure why I am still watching it besides maybe learning something from it.
Seasonal Anime

Adachi and Shimamura
This is the romance show of the season with two girls that are just done with life and trying their best. One is very emotionally distant and the other is trying their hardest to find the other girl is trying her best and constantly failing to confess, but is too shy. It is a slow movement, but it’s one that involves the two trying to find themselves while also trying to find each other. So it’s a great emotional journey of a show and I really like it.
Golden Kamuy Season 3
Golden Kamuy returned following the great horrible incident at the prison. Asirpa and others are going to Russia for crimes and Sugimoto is following. That leads to so many sorts of serious and comedic moments while still learning about different cultures in new areas. It’s a bit of a mess still, but I am enjoying a lot of elements, the tone, and especially these wild characters too.

Jujutsu Kaisen
Very solid shonen series with some great characters, and cool abilities. It really does feel like an update from older series in terms of visuals and stuff too. It does lack some cohesion here and there, but I think the sum of it’s parts are pretty good. This is still the start of a shonen battle series, but it does look pretty promising.
Akudama Drive
A very fun heist anime with almost nothing but archetypal characters, strong and week, doing an interesting heist. Our protagonist is a the one who got stuck with these strong weirder characters and is slowly gaining her own backbone over time. I feel like the strongest part of this show is going to be the second half, but I am enjoying what is here quite a bit regardless.
Moriarty: The Patriot
It’s a very safe and stale in some ways, but it does feature a handsome and blond moriarty killing noble people and the show is constantly improving itself in interesting ways too. It’s improving too.
Non Seasonal Anime

Bamboo Blade
Very funny, very cute, and has a lot of interesting character dynamics based around a kendo team and such. I look forward to what this show brings up every week, because the kendo team is how the team unites and becomes friends. It’s very complicated to summarize this show in a short kind of space.

Love Live! Sunshine!! 2
The drama of the Aqours’ school failing and them trying to make a name for themselves with that. It’s very simple short stories and it’s working fine for me. Especially with those really cool dance idol scenes and these very fun characters as well.
Dai-Guard
This show is still pretty great, but I feel like it’s flailing with a lot of its story telling and themes right now. Will we discover the secrets of the heterodyne? Will we look at the internal politics of our group? There is a lot of things to do and only 6 episodes to go. So, hope it lands but I think it will.
So yeah, that’s what I have been watching. I am going to try and continue some non seasonal, seasonal shows in the future. Maybe going to focus more on larger and longer mecha shows for that if people are interested. I suppose that is what the blog is titled after, but who knows for sure.

Will is really something. His personality leaves such an impact that you can even see him in your dreams!

Didn’t infuriate me at all. I know it infuriated you though xDD. It’s alright to disagree with each other, so long no one is being arsy to each other. Its healthy for the most part. Arguing constantly, nope.

Adachi and Shimamura is, far and away, AOTS. If it wasn’t for Fruits Basket S2, it would be solid in contention for AOTY… Crossing my fingers it holds up.

Yes, agreed. I am surprised how much of a strong series it is at the moment. Such a fantastic show.
