For today, let’s look at one of our longest standing bloggers, JonSpencerReviews. A guy who is always busy running one thing of another in this blogosphere. It’s always exciting to see what idea he comes up with next.


What is your name, the kind of content you create on the internet, and the name of that or those pieces of media?

Jon Spencer of Jon Spencer Reviews


When did you first start enjoying the media of which you provide a voice for online?

I started doing stuff around 2015, but I enjoyed a things to myself before that for some time.


What made you choose the media that you communicate your thoughts online?

I was bored and wanted more folks to share ideas with.


Has it been difficult to find a voice in the online fandom?


Not really, I just put stuff out and people show up generally.


When did you start gathering an audience? (Even a small amount of views or subscribers is an audience.)

Just after a few days I already had a decent following going, but I’d say it took a few months before I had anything that felt like an actual following.


How do handle the online discourse of anything? Media/Social Justice/Fandoms/ETC

Learn to pick your battles and know you don’t have to answer to anything if you don’t want to. Don’t be afraid to block/report spam, either.


What are two posts/podcast episodes/pieces of art/etc that you are very proud of?

My games on itch and more recently, the Rolling Girls Post
