I don’t know what happened this week, but every show decided to have excellent episodes and I am not going to be upset by this fact at all. Let all anime have excellent episodes.
Seasonal Anime
Golden Kamuy Season 3 Episode7
A lot of people stuck in snow storms recently. Also finally, it’s time to see all sorts of plots connect to each other. Sugimoto and some crew were stuck in the cold and only surviving with Tanigaki’s help into the Russian lighthouse that Sugimoto and others became friends with. They also set up a character we are going to meet in the future with Asirpa’s group. So yeah, things and ideas are connecting together. Only crazy things seem to be happening. Not the best episode, but has some very good character stuff and intrigue to push it forward.
Akudama Drive Episode 7
Multiple cats are out of the bag now and some people are in space? The kids are immortal project specimens who want to escape and that was just sad. After the death of Brawler and Master Executioner, the Akudama were able to take the kids to the right location. A theme part where a rocket will take the kids to the moon. A moon that is actually destroyed. The Dcotor, of course, is a Narc, and was spying on them the whole time and the Akudama are fighting for their survival against tons of them. The girl immortal and swindler make it to the rocket on time. Who honestly knows where this goes from here? It’s wild, but with space now I am here for it.
Adachi and Shimamura Episode 7
This episode certainly covered a lot of time in a short amount of space. The start of a school year, exams, and now Valentine’s day coming soon. Adachi doing her round about way of asking Shimamura out for Valentine’s day and Shimamura starting to finally realize that Adachi might care for her? Maybe? Possibly? Also, Adachi is imagining Shimamura in much lewder contexts. Also, little Shimamura and the alien started their own yuri antics and Shimamura’s friends are as yuri as always. With a rival for Shimamura’s affections there,
Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 8

Well damn, each of these episodes are absolutely great in terms of animation. Otherwise, very good episode in general. Nobara and Megumi meet some very horny rivals for future tournament arcs (the exchange event), the second years show how great they are once again, and Satoru said screw you to one of the leaders of the school. So, just high-quality stuff going on in general here. I like it.
Moriarty: The Patriot Episode 7
Absolutely fantastic episode. I know the center piece of the episode was fooling a certain Baron Enders in killing a body in front of a wide audience on the Noahtic. That was great and went off without a hitch. At the same time, I am excited to see the rivalry between Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty start to propogate more. I feel like the show had an extra shot of energy when they met and Sherlock Holmes indirectly told Moriarty that he knew what was going on and he was a threat. We all knew Sherlock’s name, but revealing it to Moriarty James Bond style was hype as hell. I look forward to how this moves forward.
Non Seasonal Anime
Love Live! Sunshine!! Episode 8

I feel like this was the best episode yet so far. The girls are in Hokkaido and it’s an episode about losing hope and trying to find it again. Also for siblings and hope for the future. A very good Ruby episode about her growing up and such bonding with a rival idol group member that failed on the stage. Wild times and also very emotional times as well. Also, could we not make fat and eating jokes from Hanamura please? I don’t think how the show is handling Hanamura’s big eating and fat jokes while wearing layers as bad or insulting. Just tired of it in anime.
Dai-Guard Episode 21

Exceptional episode this week. It’s a wonderful episode focused on Ibuki 13 years after the first Heterodyne appeared and her father died. This is the start of her break down from how she pictured her dad 13 years ago while the robot fight was in motion. A lot of Eva imagery with her in the cockpit seat out of focus while the Dai-Guard got beaten up. Her copilots in physical danger from her break down and mistakes. It sucks to watch, but hopefully she finds her path from that point forward.
Bamboo Blade Episode 21

You know what? Another exceptional episode this week. Anime just decided that all episodes should be good I guess. This was the episode where Tamaki found her rival, Rin. Tamaki and her love for Braver while Rin has her love for Shinaider. Tokusatsu characters that represent their positions. Tamaki showed her strength during a shooting for a new movie and it’s such fun times all around. No relationship upgrade for Tamaki and Yuji though. Maybe Tamaki will finally know what it means to have defeat soon? Fun times either way.
