This season is crazy stacked. I really mean that. Not just new things, but good sequels too. I really don’t have as much to complain about this season because I really am enjoying everything that I am watching for the most part. I am going to have to do some arbitrary placing of what I think is better then others and its really hard to do that in this case too. This is why ranking stuff is impossible sometimes because if you are enjoying everything, why would you rank it against others? But, I have done this for multiple seasons now and its time to try it once again.
Finished Watching
Ultraman Season 2
This show is a special case because it was only six episodes in length. But, I want people to know about it. I had a great time watching this and it was just pure sugar for me. The first season was very edgy and dramatic, this is pure super hero fun. Shinjiro takes to his role as Ultraman after his father was captured and there are four other Ultramen wandering around fighting aliens like a super sentai crew. Honestly, just simple and good for all the right reasons.
Everything Else
A Handy Guide for how I feel about shows:
Solid: Seasonal Favorites, Highly Recommend.
Good: Maybe not as high quality as the first category, but still pretty enjoyable.
Ok: What it says on the tin. Maybe preferable for those who are into the genre the show is from.
Bad: I’m not even sure why I am still watching it besides maybe learning something from it.

Spy x Family
It’s the hit anime of the season and possibly the year, maybe, and I can’t help but say that I really like it. This is the first time in a while that I can say that I’ve read the source material and I know what is going on. This adaptation is great. It follows the story of the manga with so many cool animation tidbits and directional style that ads so much weight into the manga while keeping its tone very cool and very life. It is just really good and I love all of it so far.
Tiger and Bunny Season 2
There are most episodes of Tiger and Bunny Season 2 that I haven’t watched yet, but I really am enjoying it so far. I don’t know what else to say about it. I do not think that it is as good as the first season because the villains kind of suck, but the show has dug into it’s newer character while giving its older character more life and layers then were ever in the first season. That’s hard to do and it’s just really fun. I’m glad one of my favorite things is having a season that is good even if its not as good.
New Legend of the Galactic Heroes Season 3
I do think there is a staleness to how this adaptation has been handled in the previous seasons, but it feels like this season has improved quite a bit. I say that as a fan of the original show and this newer one too. The politics don’t slow down anything and create a good sort of setting into this world with Fezzan and the expanded universe where our great characters live and how one things affects another. It’s just really good ok? It’s my fun Thursday watch.
Requiem of the Rose King
I don’t know what is happening with this cour, but it’s gotten really good. I feel like the first cour was decent even if it was a bit rushed, but this cour must have been where that second cour wanted to go. Some fantastic Shakespeare and Game of Thrones going on over finding out what it means to become a ruler and why King Henry hid from his people so much in the woods. Richard is dealing with the same things too.

Amaim: Warrior at the Borderline Part 2
There seem to be something in the air for all of these second cours. I like Amaim’s first cour a lot too, but this one has added some interesting layers into the story while simplifying a lot of details and other things too. I like and dig all of those elements in the bests sorts of ways there too. Some really good drama, character stuff, sides uniting together maybe to face off one threat. Some really interesting and cool mecha battles too. It’s simple and good.
Love Live! Nijigasaki Season 2
With the introduction of Lanzhu as a foe who is an antithesis to the school idol, the focus and reasons behind this club and their various idol units they formed have been really cool. They use to be solo idols, but seeing them for their own units and performances in nifty ways I do not think every idea or episode has been perfect, but there is a lot of creativity that I enjoy seeing.
Aoashi
A cool soccer anime series about a boy from the country trying to make it immediately into a soccer club in Tokyo that will make his path into being a professional easier. A lot of time was based on those try outs in the first episodes and then the long goodbyes until seeing him join the club itself. It feels so different from so many sports series and it really is an honest good time.
If anything though, there are some cases where it feels like characters are written into specific spots so they can hear what motivates them further. I just…I feel so off about those moments when they aren’t written as naturally as everything else in the story. Regardless, that doesn’t take away from it at all for me.
Komi Can’t Communicate Part 2
It’s more Komi. Yeah, that’s about all I have to say about this show right now. Tadano and Komi are still doing there things. Najimi is the try they always have been, Yamai is still there unfortunately too. But it’s still a series of 4 koma adaptations that is just relaxing to watch after a hard day’s work. A great cool down piece with mostly fun characters, shenanigan’s, and situations. Also, very well directed and animated. What else can I say? It’s good.
Conclusion
Honestly, no notes for this season from what I am watching. I am a bit nervous to jump into anything else because I am also watching a lot of older series at the same time so the new and old series clash together to take away time from watching either. But, I do have a growing watch list of new series to watch when this season is over. Especially Kongming and Birdie Wing. Both of those sound great. Can’t wait for more.
I hope this season finishes as strong as its going. It would be a season for the record books if it all works out well.
Really happy that Kaguya-sama has stayed consistently good across all its seasons. Komi is significantly less interesting than Kaguya, but I do agree that it is good.

I’m glad that people who enjoy Kaguya are still enjoying it.
