Seasonal Anime Episodes
Not much to say this time around. Just that every show is trying to feel really powerful as they reach their conclusions and that’s about it.
Love Live Superstar!! Season 2 Episode 8

My comfort show of the season came back this week. Yay! This is another simple episode full of so much hope and passion. That is the addictive stuff to get into for any long day and this comes out on Monday for me. A day that is my longest, non stop day. This is an episode on the simple building of the stage the girls will perform on. So there is a lot of good character interactions and energy behind them as they finally discover a stage that represents everything about them. Just some good an honest material that speaks to my heart. Just some incredible stuff.
Tokyo Mew Mew New Episode 11

I liked this show a lot more when it focused on other characters besides Ichigo and Aoyama’s love drama and the show is sticking with that. That should tell you how I feel about this episode. I was bored by it. I like that the four girls put up a good fight against the three aliens who want to destroy the world, but waiting Ichigo’s journey was kind of lame. Her becoming a cat is funny stuff, but the show doesn’t actually want to do fun things for her as she heads over to the battle scene. I’m glad she’s there now, but the journey was so boring. I hope that the last episode is worth it.
Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun Episode 11

Talk about the usual blood and gore of Made in Abyss, but with dramatic turns you would never expect. This season is Faputa’s honestly. It is all about her from her backstory to right now where she is is starting to protect the city she started to destroy and obliterate. Such huge shonen levels of action with really strong emotions and brutality with it too. Same with Nanachi appearing in battle mode and Belil’s sacrifice to let Faputa know where she came from. All really good stuff. Fantastic all around in the best ways too.
Call of the Night Episode 11

With the introduction of Uguisu, the detective, I have yet again found a favorite episode. Some real stakes being put into this episode. Especially sine Uguisu is some smart, seems to understand everything, and is onto Kou. Especially showing some truth of people turning into vampires after Kou and his friends break into the school during the night despite it being unlocked. Or her telling him tha the doesn’t understand vampires, because he’s only a middle schooler and has only seen the good sides. Some tension actually put into the show here.
Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2 Episode 10

Well, that was an episode that reminded me of a lot of stakes but it was so uninteresting. Especially since this is an inbetween episode leading to some kind of arc into the final two episodes. Emi at her job probably protecting Maou from going back, Gabriel is up to something, and there are just too many things going on. I just can’t find any sort of care here. Especially since the show has been so mediocre at best at this point.
Shadows House 2nd Season Episode 11

The lore behind this show is so good that I don’t mind episodes just covering a lot of it. Or episodes about Barbara and Maryrose at where they were in the beginning of their shadow lives and where they are now. Barbara as a leader who can never leave the kid area but wants to and Maryrose, the one who can leave but choose to attack Shadows House itself. The innocent Barbara also losing it all as she got angry at everyone around her. Very compelling character drama to the end of it where Maryrose escapes her fate perhaps. It’s anime and I’m excited for more.
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Episode 11

Well, this is an episode about growing up and some training. It is very interesting that Yuuhi is helping Samidare’s family to at least talk to each other. Especially since Samidare’s mom finally came home and she doesn’t want to see here at all. So seeing Yuuhi being pretty mature and subtle is really good stuff as well there too. It was capped off by Yuuhi finally just casually talking to his grandfather. In a lot of ways, this episode was very well written and didn’t require any sort of visual drama because its just compelling character drama. I kind of dig it for the most part.
Aoashi Episode 23

Man, this episode went by in a flash too. Really well paced and well put together on all levels. Great character drama, actual coaching, and players actually getting along with each other or at least starting to understand each other. You can see a real shift in the game when players aren’t just hating each other, but at least finding something to like about each other. Then Aoi had a bit of an arc where he understands the game and his position more. Heck, even Nozomi himself changed because he’s introverted coach that talks to people one on one until this episode. Just so much stuff to dig into here and its great. All of it is so great.
Yurei Deco Episode 12

Well, I wasn’t expecting this show to end with a combination of Willy Wonka and the end of the second Matrix film. Was a generally fun time looking at Hack’s backstory through interesting perspective shifts and then the end with the true meeting with Hack and Berry meeting the older lady, Injun Joe who has controlled the entire island. I wish the ending wasn’t purely Hack takes over and things change a little bit, but that’s what we got and it was generally ok I think. An ok show that could of had a stronger ending towards this too.
Fuuto PI Episode 8

Oh hey, the mystery ended this episode. Especially with all those girls supposedly trying to kill each other. Philip and Shotaro, together, surmised that it was the alcohol dopant that was killing them because no one was actually murdered. No one can actually handle it. Which meant the bad guy had to leave soon and cause all sorts of havok. It did mean we got to see the motorcycle kamen rider Ryuji and how Aki’s small comment on him being a motorcycle was true. Fun times. I just enjoyed all of those elements in all of those here too.
This Week’s Episode Ratings

Last year, I started a small graph system that I used to rank the weekly episodes I’ve watched. I’m going to bring it back for this season and see how it goes. I just want to make my opinions a bit more clearer other then “I really like this anime episode that did those things?”. If this helps at all.
Now, this doesn’t mean that the episode on the bottom is bad. Just that that it wasn’t as good as the others. That’s it really. In the end, this is all arbitrary after all just like most of what I blog anyway. It’s just another thing, what is the difference?
