Weekly Seasonal Watches: Summer 2022 Anime Season Week 12

Seasonal Anime Episodes

Well, there really was a large number of conclusions this week. Yeah, it is that fun time where you see all the shows you watch in a season slowly disappear as newer shows appear once gain. I really find that time exciting because watching new shows is always a bit exciting even if you don’t fully like them. The possibilities of quality between them are endless until you actual watch them.

Love Live Superstar!! Season 2 Episode 9

Another sort of tension breaking episode before Leila can move into the next thing. Not exceptional or anything, but still solid over all. The tension provided by Sunny Passion losing against our resident gundam villain and Sumire worrying about Keke leaving if they don’t win built into this episode. An episode where Sumire pushed the idea of only the second years competing which everyone disagreed with and it went the way you expected to, but it was enjoyable enough. I just wish that Keke and Sumire actually kissed instead of hugged. Oh well.

Tokyo Mew Mew New Episode 12

End of season one! Woo! I did find a bit of this show disappointing, but this ending kind of rocked. Really good action sequences, great stakes, and these girls working together to defeat the evil butterfly that will make Tokyo unlivable. Too bad Ichigo is hours late for her date, but oh well. The biggest highlight for me was when Zakuro and Mint worked together to get the Aqua Mew. The best sequence of the show followed by astonishing shot of a clear Tokyo. This show was ok, but I can’t wait for more.

Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun Episode 12

Not airing until next week. Next week is a double length finale episode like the first season.

Call of the Night Episode 12

I feel like this is the most real episode of this show so far. Especially since Kou started questioning his goal for being a vampire. What is the reality? What are the true aspects of the vampiric life that he used to hold dear which Anko broke the wall under? Is Nazuna manipulating Kou for her own gains of seeing the night time in a different and more exploratory light when it just becomes the same after a while? Some questions which the show is really interested in exploring at the end of his run. The big question is, will Kou still pursue a vampiric lifestyle?

Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2 Episode 11

Yeah, I feel like this episode could have been a whole 22+ minutes of the old tv lost signal noise and visuals and I would have gotten the same things out of it. It’s setting up some things which the show thinks are interesting in between the normal daily lives of tv shopping, but it’s not good at it. Even if we see the plot happening through characters talking, nothing is really happening and next episode, the finale, is just going to suck. I just feel it in my mind right now.

Shadows House 2nd Season Episode 12

Well, this episode was a great finale. It was the kind of episode that did set up a next season but it actively but characters into it and they gained something from their journey. I like that this episode focused on Kate and Emilico’s growth into becoming people that could actually lead. Same with the true reveal of the hooded figure which made sense. I do want a season three because there are so many threads hanging for it not to happen, but this episode still made me pretty happy too.

Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Episode 12

This is an episode that is hard to define or describe because it was mainly these characters hanging out. The main thing itself was Anima appearing and doing strange and goofy things. Which was funny as we see her just casually doing powers and completely confounding the knights. Like, she can just create portals and summon people or turn a horse into a unicorn. There is a golem fight that got the group together, but Anima is pretty wide and fascinating too. Just kind of confounding of an episode to really think about or score in my mind perhaps.

Aoashi Episode 24

This episode just made me feel happy. Everything about it just clicked so well from Aoi owning the field in his play so other people had to mark him. Which was fun because it literally didn’t bother him at all as he did one good play after another helping his team to win. Plus, it has even shown Kaneda that his training wasn’t for nothing. He worked hard and his players respect him too. Or how about the show ending with Aoi and a few others making it to team a and some things with Hana were handled somewhat to having a possibility there. Please give us more.

Fuuto PI Episode 9

Ah, I see that I guessed wrong about who did everything once again because last episode didn’t jump to any major conclusions other then “it’s you” without pointing out who is was. But that’s ok, the ending of this mystery was good with it taking nepotism down a peg or two by it being the grandmother who is the actual person being everything. Especially sine she has been a dopant so long that she has some special powers. Which is awesome because we got to see the more extreme edition of Kamen Rider W’s forms where its a true fusion of the two.

So yeah, that was a really cool battle that was also just as fun as Terui (or Kamen Rider Axcel)’s battle that we didn’t get to see as much of. That’s ok, because he isn’t the star. The episode concluding with our billionaire having to get a job and the fact that he didn’t drink at the end of a alcohol based case is pretty hilarious. Also pretty heart warming because the remaining girls that were set against each other were pretty good with each other at the end. Plus, everyone knows who the true villain is now as Fuuto PI moves into its last arc.

This Week’s Episode Ratings

Last year, I started a small graph system that I used to rank the weekly episodes I’ve watched. I’m going to bring it back for this season and see how it goes. I just want to make my opinions a bit more clearer other then “I really like this anime episode that did those things?”. If this helps at all.

Now, this doesn’t mean that the episode on the bottom is bad. Just that that it wasn’t as good as the others. That’s it really. In the end, this is all arbitrary after all just like most of what I blog anyway. It’s just another thing, what is the difference?
