Seasonal Anime Episodes
Ok, I almost didn’t do the seasonal rankings starting this week because Excel was being a pain in the butt and didn’t know how to work. But somehow, it’s functional now. This is all I can do for the moment before cleaning it up a bit more for next week, but I’m just happy it works for now.
Anyway, I started playing video games recently once again. Mainly Gundam Evolution because its free to play and also Gundam. It is a pretty fun time when the game isn’t bugging out and actually works. Really looking forward to possibly getting better at it and maybe gaining some skill. Who really knows? I’ll just play it when I have time and try not to get addicted to it.
Love Live Superstar!! Season 2 Episode 11

Leil won somehow and Margorete didn’t take her loss well. So that sense of pride in idols working together didn’t connect with our resident gundam villain at all. For now, everyone is celebrating and Kanon has an opportunity to gain an even bigger education in music in Viena. That’s crazy considering that is what our gundam villain wanted. Except, Kanon doesn’t want to though there is some small bits of drama about that with Chisato wanting to see her girlfriend go for it. I suppose love live itself is out of the picture for now. Didn’t see this twist coming but it makes sense.
Golden Kamuy Season 4 Episode 1 (Season Premiere)

I’m so glad this show is back. While the gang is together once again and headed out of Russia, hopefully, there is only things that this show can which can make any lick of sense. For instance, Golden Kamuy is the only show that could have a serious scenario where a sniper is pinning down a group of people turn into two men drawing pictures on the floor. Or a detective that is made fun of investigating people’s buttholes. Or an assassin who is poisoning people to prove luck. It’s really crazy and beautiful stuff that somehow makes sense together.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These – Intrigue Episode 1 (Season Premiere)

This show actually premiered last week and I didn’t know anything about it because anilist didn’t notify me on it, so I’m going to go over these episodes seperately.
This episode was the actual finale of the arc from last season where this show just stopped for a little bit. Yang Wenli made it back and the fortress battle ends in the FPA’s favor leading Kemp’s last fortress charge absolutely fruitless. A complete disaster by the empire to try and do anything because of Kempf’s lack of imagination or forward thinking in how to end the conflict easier for the empire. So its great to see the reunion of the Iserlohn fortress group after so long because it felt very long due to the break. Fantastic return episode.
Episode 2
This was another just really good episode even if its a bit of a cool down one. It pays off a lot of what happened from the empire losing with Muller showing his loyalty while Reinhard gets rid of scheming scientist and plans to spy on Fezzan more. It’s really good that Reinhard can still award loyalty because through simple animation choices, you can see that Muller is still heavily injured, but he stood up to take his fate from Reinhard anyway.
Meanwhile, the topic of succession rings through alot in this episode. From Reinhard and Hilda talking about it possibly Ruenthal playing something in the future (he does). Then that good talk of Yang and Julian where Yang finally accepts him as a soldier. Then there was more Fezzan talk between Rubinsky and his son where we gain a lot of attention from what might happen on Fezzan in the future. It’s just really simple on the animation front, but beautiful on the writing side.
Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 1

I’m so happy that this show is back. I missed everything about it. The world, the characters, and just the look of all of it. Especially since this is Mob’s look at the future as he tries to find his own path soon enough. Especially since he is always the simplest minded and most powerful person, but he still wants to live in the normal space somewhere. As usual, he never considers his psychic powers in any important way. Very fun to see him defeat a monster built out of laziness while having adults that are struggling to find their way still. Just so well executed as usual. Love it.
Bibliophile Princess Episode 1 (Premiere)

I see some people complaining about this show being too boring or unenergetic, but it just works for me. Also makes a lot of sense considering that main character, Eliana, is an introvert that wants to just read books all the time like her family. I find the relationship between her and prince Christopher as pretty cute. It feels really comfy and good it makes sense that even small things are going to be turned into drama when you have literally no other problems. First world problems the anime, but its comfy, soft, and interesting enough for me to keep an eye on it.
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Episode 13

Man, this episode hurt pretty badly. Especially since Tarou was such a nice guy that wanted to date his childhood friend. The kind boy and the nerdy girl are cool people there too. Then the ninth golem attacks and the guy uses his wish as he dies to bring back his love. For nothing. Man, it really does push people into the edges of it all when Yuuhi and Honoka want to compete for the power to continue fighting. Such a major improvement in this episode on a stand point there too. So a powerful way to introduced all of these aspects too.
Tiger and Bunny Season 2 Part 2 Premiere (Cour Premiere)

Well, this was an ok set up to this cour’s sort of plot here too. Tiger and Bunny finally are able to premiere into the hero show itself after all of their injuries. So there was some good sorts of comedy about Tiger trying to act like someone who isn’t going to make it back. Then the Next’s start attacking out of nowhere while going completely bonkers there too. It’s crazy times here and I hope we get to hear something about that happen here too. Looking forward to what happens next even if I am not so excited about this episode.
Spy X Family Cour 2 Episode 2

There is just pure spy insanity going on here. I love it. Especially with Anya and her dog try to go on spy adventures to save Loid from an explosion while Loid is on his mission to save the peace between two nations. Anya’s portion is really cute because she doesn’t know how to read clocks or do any of the things she wants to do like disarm bombs. So obviously, she just tries her best. The rest of the spy saga with Loid is cool enough though. I just wish that Yor had more to do. Even the dog who can read the future got more time then her :(. Still a good time though.
Raven of the Inner Palace Episode 2

What a wonderful episode that really did set up so many elements of this show. Some sense of the palace game that is going to be apart of the entire anime. Especially seeing so many weaknesses in the characters themselves from the pretty cool connection between Shenxhue and Juijui wandering around the court as Juijui joins the raven consort. Or Shenxhue’s white hair. Or the sort of romance between Shenxhue and Koushun after discovering the small controversy to kill Koushun. Just so much cool and beautiful things here on good levels there too.
Bluelock Episode 1 (Premiere)

I went into this anime completely blind and I feel like that was a good choice after all. This show is so wild. I was not expecting a death game but soccer. But here we are, the top 300 apparent striker players in the Japan who have the hope of taking Japan to the world championships. This is completely nuts, guys. It’s going to be wild to see Yoichi Isagi move onto become one of the highest level of player in japan because he is a very ambitious player. It’s just a bit too much in a way that I just want to see more of it.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Episode 2

Yup, this show is just as Gundam as the rest of the franchise is. Just turned into a different direction. Everything is connected with the prologue pretty well. The duel and it’s win by Moirine and Suletta in the end was made null and void by parties who ultimately were salty that someone unexpected (and thought destroyed) won in the end.
All of that is Gundam material body moved in different ways. Same with the mysterious char clone that appeared (Suletta’ mother) and Moirine’s rebellion against her father to get her groom out of jail to fight and win a battle for her freedom. Or the lunchroom scene showing how Earthnoids are second class citizens. This show is so creative and yet Gundam to it’s core so it’s really wonderful. Love this show and hope it stays this good.
Fuuto PI Episode 11

Another fun middle episode that does a great job of setting up a probably great finale. Mainly the two Kamen Riders being kicked out of Shadow Fuuto after putting up a good fight and then the crawling back to we need to keep fighting and going in order to make it all connect and work. It’s great to see Philip pull back from his sadness of not saving Tokime and finding a connection or a way to get back into Shadow Fuuto with more information. Something which Philip will help with on some degree. Especially since its returning to information they didn’t have before.
I am glad that Tokime is growing a lot too. Especially since she was being forced to strip for a second until she didn’t give it and showed her connection with the joker power that has been established to her not knowing before hand. She used it and saved the Grandpa stuck in Shadow Fuuto. Now its time to see how it will all connect in the end when Tokime returns more powerful and the Kamen Riders have a much more solid stance of continuing. Should be a wonderful finale.
This Week’s Episode Ratings

Last year, I started a small graph system that I used to rank the weekly episodes I’ve watched. I’m going to bring it back for this season and see how it goes. I just want to make my opinions a bit more clearer other then “I really like this anime episode that did those things?”. If this helps at all.
Now, this doesn’t mean that the episode on the bottom is bad. Just that that it wasn’t as good as the others. That’s it really. In the end, this is all arbitrary after all just like most of what I blog anyway. It’s just another thing, what is the difference?
Is part of your Gundam Mercury write up missing?
