Weekly Seasonal Watches: Fall 2022 Anime Season Week 3

Seasonal Anime Episodes

I wonder if, in a seasonal sense, we are starting to figure out how these shows are going to be through out their runs. Established shows are something we know a lot about and can predict where they are going, except Witch From Mercury perhaps, but there is always something unique about the newer shows which we know nothing about them at all. Hmmm.

Golden Kamuy Season 4 Episode 3

Golden Kamuy can’t keep getting away with having stories focused on side characters that do and yet do not have something to do with the story at the same time. There was an entire mystery about these people wearing strange clothes and traditional Japanese shoes causing chaos for Tsurumi’s troops around a hot spring. Very Golden Kamuy stuff about these characters we just me in a good sort of action scenes and such. Plus Sugimoto and othe others showed up at the end, so they wer ein this episode for once. It was nice and beautiful.

Chainsaw Man Episode 2

I feel a little bit better about this Chainsaw Man adaptation after this episode. I guess I’m getting used to the aesthetic for how clean it is. Even the back alley looked too clean and you know something is bad. But maybe this version of Chainsaw Man is supposed to be clean. But this is the episode where Denji has been hooked, lined, and sinkered by Makima to work for the government. We also meet Aki, the serious guy, in one quick scene and then Power, a “sane” fiend”, who is Denji’s partner. In general, it was a fun time just for Power.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These – Intrigue Episode 4

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is, of course, so good this episode about the kidnapping of the child emperor was really good stuff. Very simple in terms of this anime series because Reinhard let it happen. He let the police chief just suck at doing his job while the poet and captain of the former regime just stole the childish emperor in the name of Fezzan. Should be interesting to see what happens moving forward too. Solid episode.

Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 3

This episode made me feel so nervous. The sky tree has affected a lot of the aspects of the show in the last two episodes. It makes its full appearance here. Same with a lot of the cults. Suddenly Mob has become famous, somehow and that makes him look like a figurative chad. A chad that involves possibly taking charge of the new religion forming around the tree itself. I hope that Mob isn’t the actual person controlling it at the end and just someone or Mob to defeat. There is a too much tension going about that here. I forgot Mob Psycho can make me feel uncomfortable.

Bibliophile Princess Episode 3

This is an episode of something that I wish came out first or something. Or maybe it wouldn’t have worked in the way it did here. But regardless of that, a very cute and comfy episode of only Eliana and Prince Christopher’s relationship from the beginning to where they are now and something about the growth between the two. It was just really cute and comfy showing how (or perhaps just telling) how Eliana is a good make to be a queen and such. If these two didn’t have such good chemistry, it wouldn’t work.

Urusei Yatsura (2022) Episode 2

This show is still just ridiculous funny in the right ways. Especially with the levels it goes on how screwed up Ataru’s life is. He tries to go on the run, but he ends up meeting Setsuna a priestess who basically all her demons exercised just went to Ataru which is fair honestly. Then the whole gambit of using a ribbon to stop Lum’s powers which got them closer for a bit, but then just increased his suffering when her powers returned. Yeah, this retro humor is working for me.

Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Episode 15

A good episode about the younger Shinonome brother and his bit of competition against Yuuhi too. Especially since the young boy really had a reason on why he wanted to compete and get stronger. Plus a good semblance of bonding and competition with Yuuhi against gaining some skill onto his own too. Just a cool bit of time onto it too while we see the stakes of the show building in the background.

Tiger and Bunny Season 2 Part 2 Episode 3

Well, I definitely know where this show is going now. So many little bits being put into play from the first season are happening once again. Next users or just X now are still causing trouble and we know who the bad guys are here too. Plus Bunny apparently is suffering from pain when using his ability and super heroes are being looked down upon again. Lunatic’s dad’s backstory is really moving into the lime light where I don’t think heroes are going to be viable in Sternbill anymore. Many, this show is going heavy as usual.

Spy X Family Cour 2 Episode 4

Another really comfy and cool episode with Yor this week. Another bit of an emphasis on Yor’s job of assassinating as she shows up to someone’s house with what seems like blog in her bag. Then we learn about Yor trying to learn how to cook where her assassin skills kind of ruins her every chance of cooking. Same with Yuri who knows nothing but to say positive things about her cooking. So seeing her learn to cook things from her childhood, because she is a war orphan, was good. Then the not so heart warming aspect of the show where Loid and our glasses guy, Franky, drink at a bar because of how lonely their job actually is. So yeah, just a show on a lot of deep levels.

Raven of the Inner Palace Episode 4

This show just focusing on Shouxue learning how to interact with people is still a pretty comfy good time. Especially with this very small mystery still being uncovered from Dowager’s horrible regime that ruined a lot of lives. Her trying to figure out how to act or support Jiujiu is such an interesting and relatable time and Gaojun is a pretty down to Earth emperor. It feels like we are still in comfy times before the plot behind Shouxue and everyone else really kicks in and I’m not sure I’m ready for that.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Episode 4

Today in Witch From Mercury, Suletta continues to be a gigantic tsundere magnet. It really does seem like Miorine is taking in Suletta because that girl is all alone and only Miorine seems to be the person who wants to help her out at all or at least can when Suletta failed her exam. Suletta was even from out of the Earth House area despite being invited there, by Chuchu who has her own little bit of eventually allowing Suletta to just hang around all of them which means that ChuChu has to get past her own bias regarding Spacenoids. So space politics is everything too and this episode was pretty cool and comfy despite everything that was going on there too.

This Week’s Episode Ratings

Last year, I started a small graph system that I used to rank the weekly episodes I’ve watched. I’m going to bring it back for this season and see how it goes. I just want to make my opinions a bit more clearer other then “I really like this anime episode that did those things?”. If this helps at all.

Now, this doesn’t mean that the episode on the bottom is bad. Just that that it wasn’t as good as the others. That’s it really. In the end, this is all arbitrary after all just like most of what I blog anyway. It’s just another thing, what is the difference?

  1. Yay, I’m glad Bibliophile Princess finally explained why the two main characters are together! For the first two episodes, I was a little confused as to why they were together and why the prince would go to such lengths to protect his favorite little library lover. I also kind of feel like this should have been the first episode, than the other episodes would have had more weight to them.
