Seasonal Anime Episodes
One more week of this season to go and I still don’t know what I am going to watch next season at all. Plus, a lot of shows from this season are leaking over to next season too whether its one episode or not. I suppose the next thing I have to do is put together a next season watch list and see what happens.
Chainsaw Man Episode 11

Such a crazy episode once again. For Power, Aki, and Denji, it was about all of them confirming that they may have gotten stronger or at least gained a new ability. Denji and Power supposedly passed their training from Kishibe and Aki made a connection with the future devil. Meanwhile, Makima threatens yakuza members for the names of the people who get attached to the gun devil. So yeah, clean and efficient in that way to introduce more devil users and handle the plot of the Gun devil and their minions. Generally more then solid episode.
Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 12 (Finale)

Awwww, this was such a good finale to the entire show. Like a great footnote to everything this show was representing. Of course, Reigen is the best boy and he worked his butt off just to help Mob accept everything about himself even if he did end up getting rejected by Tsubami at the end. It’s pretty wonderful stuff with a lot of great visual story telling and Reigen just being an excellent bad ass. Especially when he confessed every single flaw and everyone accepted him anyway. Especially when celebrating his birthday. So great and comfy work on everything.
Bibliophile Princess Episode 12 (Finale)

A relaxing ending that wrapped up everything as well as it could. Especially considering that this show is a bit of a mess with its ideas being thrown all over the place then somehow put together in the end. You know, despite the progress not really being there. This time though, Elianna does get a lot more approval for her fiance’s family and she does back away from a rare book to be Chris’ partner. Plus, I do like the idea of these nobles being celebrities that make material from foreign lands more interested in boosting their economy in the future. Not sure how true that is in real life, but it makes sense for everything this story is going for. Can dig that well enough.
Urusei Yatsura (2022) Episode 11 (Cour Finale)

This felt like the messiest way to end this cour’s run of Urusei Yatsura. I do get that Mendo’s sister is a good pranker too. So that first half of the episode was pretty good and hilarious, but the second half should have been an episode of its own. Especially since the whole cast showed up at Mendo’s house for a wild time of games and the floor boards doing crazy things. There just isn’t much that comes from the gags we saw because they didn’t have enough time to land properly at all. So yeah, not a bad episode but a bit disappointing.
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Episode 24 (Finale)

Not everyone will agree because not many people have stuck around after the lack luster sort of animation, but I really am going to miss this show now. The last minute time period of these character joining each other in combat for the last time and the many times they hung out to now seeing Anima disappear and taking their reason to connect to each other disappearing. I’m so happy to see that everyone is still working together or seeing each other all the time. Same with Samidare getting medical help and operations for ten years. It was just so good and emotional. I really wish it hit as hard as the manga, but it still hit despite some of the lack of quality.
Tiger and Bunny Season 2 Part 2 Episode 12 (Finale)

Once again, this series really thrown together a lot of its finale elements a little too fast because everything felt rushed or “we created this situation for this just to happen” sort of situations because how the story ended didn’t make sense on a power level sort of level. But the emotions hit fine. That moment of Tiger’s powers just disappearing and him tossing his power suit to Bunny when it was needed and it was such an emotional catharsis for Tiger and Bunny. Then the other team mates got their own special conclusions. It was really good even if it was rushed. Expect me to write about this more sooner.
Spy X Family Cour 2 Episode 13 (Finale)

What a comfy and really personal end to this cour of Spy X Family. Especially one where Loid had to confront his target of Operation Stryx, Donovan Desmond as himself for the first time just to get information about the man. Or just having an honest conversation about parenting and not understanding their children by loving them anyway. Or Damien Desmond being somewhat influenced by Anya and really talking to his father for the first time in a while even he really had to struggle for it. It really sucks he has to seek his dad’s opinion and approval, but it is something he is lacking compared to other kids his age.
Raven of the Inner Palace Episode 13 (Finale)

Well, this is and isn’t the conclusion that I thought it would have but it is a good one with a good link towards a possible season 2. I it doesn’t, that’s fine. This last episode really is about what Shouxue gained since her time as the Raven Consort. How she gained a lot of friends and people that really like her other then her counterpart that was so alone apart from when Shouue entered her life. So yes, the person who yelled at Shouxue and berated her for gathering a following was old and tried to kill her and her new crew stopped her. Then Shouxue actually visited her friends and stretched outside her bounds a bit more. It’s a good time. Nothing everything is concluded, but that’s ok.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Episode 11

A bit of an emotional catharsis we needed from the Miorine and Suletta tension happened in this episode as the crew headed back to get the Gundam Aerial. Because man, Suletta being stressed out and working hard on every inch just to get people to not rid of her when that’s all in her head. So her emotional moment with Suletta and Miorine was worth every bit of that. All while so much political ramifications regarding Delling’s assassination were happening in the background. The story ended with Suletta facing down one of the Earth Witch assassins in glass and there is going to be a lot of things going on for that too. A great cliff hanger where Witch of Mercury can go any direction that it wants to go in. See you two weeks after all the stress from this finale.
This Week’s Episode Ratings

Last year, I started a small graph system that I used to rank the weekly episodes I’ve watched. I’m going to bring it back for this season and see how it goes. I just want to make my opinions a bit more clearer other then “I really like this anime episode that did those things?”. If this helps at all.
Now, this doesn’t mean that the episode on the bottom is bad. Just that that it wasn’t as good as the others. That’s it really. In the end, this is all arbitrary after all just like most of what I blog anyway. It’s just another thing, what is the difference?
It’s the end of the year, and so many great anime are coming to an end. It’s kind of sad! But some of the endings were so good! The last episode for SpyXFamily was really heart warming, and Anya tried sooo hard to be helpful, but in the end nap-time defeated her. I’m so glad Damien got to make a connection with his father. Even if it was very small, it’s a good first step. The ending to Raven of the Inner Palace was also really good, though I hope there will be a second season because there’s just too much left unanswered for my taste. The ending to Bibliophile Princess was fine, but not great. The series really started stumbling over itself, and the ending did clean everything up a bit, but it could have been better.

Yeah, I wish that Bibliophile Princess’ last few episodes weren’t so all over the place even if the show itself turns out to be just fine. Everything else does hit pretty hard though. What a good season.
I’m having so much trouble trying to find some newer shows to watch next season compared to this one.

Strong season, perfect to end the year. Can’t really blame you for not really knowing what to watch for winter 2023. It’s looking extremely weak – Vinland Saga might be the one and only true greatness, but there’s another (very) few I’m planning to be checking out.

I had to really research which shows I want to go with, besides Vinland Saga S2 and some other S2’s, and even those are uncertain.
