The Selection of Shows for Mecha March 2023

I have already discussed the major concept behind this mecha march in my previous post, but a quick summary is that I am basing the shows that I chose or this session on the concept of localization. That means they either had an interesting release in English, had no release, or had the perfect release. I want the entire sampling of it. I want examples of everything and here is the list of shows I decided to go along with it.

Mecha March 2023 List (Not In Order of Appearance) :

• Dairugger
• GoLion
• Fighbird
• God Mars
• Code Geass
• Daltanious
• Southern Cross
• Medabots S1
• Mighty Orbots

Originally, I wasn’t going to have a central theme or idea but it all clicked together that there is something interesting about all of them and that idea was how they were localized in the United States. I say that because a lot of these shows are popular in different places in Asia, Europe, and Central to South America. We are the strange ones.

I was planning on having Magic Knight Rayearth S2 on here as well, but I didn’t know that it was on crunchyroll until recently. But don’t worry, I will be watching it and posting about it on my own in the future. Whether that is for Mecha March 2024 or otherwise remains to be seen. It took me months to watch all of them and then write about them. Mecha March preparation is hard.

Mecha Madness 2023

Last year, I had a tournament based on internet polls, but I don’t think the selection was as good or diverse as it could be. So this time, I will be posting a survey of shows that I’ve picked from every decade and then having people vote on those. It’s not like this is going to be unbiased in the first place, so I’m putting these shows in by myself because there will be more control then last time.

So here is some important information regarding this:

• Mecha March 2023 Poll Will Come out February 17, 2023
• It will have 15 shows and movies from each decade
• All Chosen By Me
• VOTING FOR EVERY DECADE IS NOT REQUIRED
• Vote for what you are comfortable with
• First Round of Mecha Madness 2023 is February 25, 2023
• 32 Anime Series will take part in tournament from the top results
• The winner will face against Patlabor, which currently presides as the grand champion

Conclusion

So yes, this is what is going on this year. Last year, Mecha Madness was a success and I hope it is this year. I want to make it as easy as possible to get through because user friendliness is what allows it to succeed. just be prepared for the 17th of this month.
