Seasonal Watches
This was a tiring week because it felt like I was running around everywhere with the parents being her and me taking the dog to day care and then take her home everyday. Also, my hours are switching from the 5 days of work week with 8 working hours to 4 days of work with ten hours this coming week and that means rethinking my watch schedule a bit. Honestly, I’m pretty nervous about that fact.
Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 9

The best episode of this season so far and that says quite a lot because this entire arc has been fire for me. After getting beaten up, Thorfin has a lot of dream sequences. The first once being that he was in a field with a young lamb assuming everything he went through in his entire life up to this point was a dream until the reality happen. He met his father on the same ground because they are both weighed down by the people they killed. Then Thorfinn fell into the ground almost to the pit of hell where warriors can keep fighting onward and onward. I was amazed that Askeladd supported in Thorfinn to stop fighting. Such a visually stunning episode too. so good.
High Card Episode 9

A time skip happened and the enemies are starting to cause some more terrorism now. The threat is finally here and Finn has been locked in his room for two weeks because he is afraid to cause any sort of danger. So Wendy and Vijyay got on one train and somehow Chris, after saying some kind words, got Finn to go with him. Then dumb sort of thing with Chris and the dumb villains was interesting until the threat became real and Chris pushed Finn off the train to conveniently meet the person they were after. This is a bit of a mess of an episode once again.
Tsurune – The Linking Shot – Episode 10

Despite the fact that the practice match up didn’t happen, I loved this episode because we saw Nikaidou’s complete deal now. Not just what is pushing him, but how he feels about everyone around him. For instance, that moment where he and Minato got stuck in the elevator actually talked to each other and Minato to Nikaidou that he did suffer some downs after the big guy left and he found himself again. Then Nikaidou using people and hating everyone around him was fascinating. All while our boys are trying to change their order to see if they can find a connection that way. It’s such a wonderful deep episode here too.
Tomo-Chan is a Girl Episode 10

Part of this episode is after a long run with Tomo-chan and Jun and Tomo-chan’s biggest show of weakness after she got sick and doing super human levels of athletic techniques. So Jun actually carried Tomo-chan on his back and showed how much he cared about her by trying to help. Something which Misuzu and Carol notice and Tomo-chan actually gets Jun to carry her on his back once again. It was all really cute and hilarious there as well.
The second half of it was a backstory and it was great. It kind of explained everything in middle school along with Misuzu and Jun’s perspectives compared to Tomo-chan. Jun leaving her behind and Misuzu not wanting to be left behind and thinking that a relationship with Jun would allow her to do that. A massive thing that happens, this is why Jun and Misuzu started to do that to get closer to Tomo-chan in some way. Some great connection there too.
Bofuri Season 2 Episode 7

This show came back and it was about Maple and Sally going on a date until a mystery sort of happened. A lovely date in an area that had no antagonizing creatures and they rode a horse. How romantic can you get? Of course it leads the two going on a quest where they go to dangerous places and defeat monsters in order to get three gems to upgrade their two pets. Then the mods and programs were complete confused by this left behind code and Maple Tree gaining so many high level pets. The game really is held together by duct tape, isn’t it?
Urusei Yatsura (2022) Episode 21

I hope that we get more delinquent adventures with Lum and her friends at earlier ages. Lum, Ran, and Benten working together to get rid of a robot teacher they hate at a Urchin planet and then having it come back to attack them years later is ridiculously weird and funny. Love it. This is an episode where the second half was actually just as funny as the first half because we go from sci fi to mysticism. As in, Mendou and Ataru get voodoo dolls of each other and the results are hilarious. Also another beautiful episode in play here too.
Trigun Stampede Episode 10

Well, the show is really coming together towards its finally with dramatic turns that are expected but executed in good and fascinating ways. Meryl and Robert are shown what Knives is plotting alongside the doctor he saved showing how they are turning humans into plants and Knives wants to save his kind. Then Vash and Wolfwood come into save the day and attack their enemies while Robert dies by a nail. It’s a much morally ambiguous sort of explanation for the whole show compared to the original and honestly, I look forward to seeing how it will play out now that Meryl has her derringer.
The Fire Hunter Episode 9

A lot more technical explanation because we are given some sort of timeline for when the Spiders are trying to attack. Then we also see some weapons testing with the lightning fire and the pushing a war against the gods themselves. Plus some details about Touko getting on a truck home after all her work which probably won’t be the end of her in the plot because that’s how it works. It’s a much more complicated sort of episode that finally does more then the “five minutes on Namek” sort of scenario.
Soaring Sky! Precure Episode 6

This is a very simple episode and these girls are just gay. Sora and Mashiro spend time away from each other because only Mashiro can go to school and Sora can’t (yet) and they feel lonely without each other. So obviously Sora gets some make up on her, as she is shopping for errands, to explain her feelings after school which the confession is completely interrupted by Kabaton again which leads to a fight and then a confession. So a visually simple episode but it was cute and everything it needed to be.
Weekly Ratings
Last year, I started a small graph system that I used to rank the weekly episodes I’ve watched. I’m going to bring it back for this season and see how it goes. I just want to make my opinions a bit more clearer other then “I really like this anime episode that did those things?”. If this helps at all.

Now, this doesn’t mean that the episode on the bottom is bad. Just that that it wasn’t as good as the others. That’s it really. In the end, this is all arbitrary after all just like most of what I blog anyway. It’s just another thing, what is the difference?
