Seasonal Watches
This week was so crazy for me. My parents were gone, so I needed to take care of the dog. That does mean I had to take her to day care before work and take her home after. Then my work hours changed where I only work 4 days of the week instead of five, but they are ten hour shifts and I have to wake up an hour earlier too as well. I was just so tired from all of it. I was glad when my three day weekend hit and the parents came home. I rested a lot this weekend.
Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 10

What a wild episode but in a good way. First of all, it’s been three years and somehow both Einar and Thorfinn have cleared the forest and are almost ready to become free. All they have to do is make their farms and plant the seeds. Of course, nothing about that is ominous at all (lol) as their master plans on leaving until they return to it. Then there is Canute who is ruining every life around him with poison. He is really indulging deeper into his dark side as he accepts his visions of his father who died as he killed his brother through poison. Our guy is about to become the king of not just England, but Denmark as well. Huge gains there too.
High Card Episode 10

Yeah, this show couldn’t have jumped the shark more then it has honestly. In this show is a simple series about this organization against another organization against cards and that’s all it needed to be at least decent. For most of this episode, I could talk to you about how the High Card organization is kind of lacking in the intelligence and/or policies department with Aya’s backstory.
So that was all good because I think she is a great character and then we dug more into Chris’ backstory and I felt a few more things about how he is missing something. Then it ends up with Chris shooting Finn after they fought their enemy together. Maybe jumping the shark is a little to hard considering that his was there, but its hard to tell this story and the rest of the conflict over the battle of special cards when there is now only two episodes left. I do sense a mess of an ending for this average at best series.
Tsurune – The Linking Shot – Episode 11

This was such a fun and dramatic episode on almost every turn. I love all the build up to the first round of the finals. In some way, we get some pretty quick pay off from Minato and his crew against Nikaidou and his gang that was built up last episode. The must win sort of personality that Nikaidou has versus our boys who want to do their best and thanks to Minato’s help, our boys found their way home against the super serious people. I also really like the martial versus for sport argument that Nikaidou and Seiya because it does inform both of their opinions and ideas and exemplify how things can be just enjoyed for fun now.
Tomo-Chan is a Girl Episode 11

I am not feeling progress on Tomo-chan and Jun’s relationship at all, but this was a fun episode. Especially with Misuzu, Carol, and Tomo working at a normal restaurant as maids and causing that restaurant to gain more revenue then before hand. The small moment of honesty with Tomo-chan and Misuzu drifting apart leading to the funny bits of the fall down the stair game and the starting bits of the Cinderella play too. Especially with Tomo-chan switching some gender voice rolls with Jun for practice while he is just a tree (which is really funny). So this episode was a lot of things and I feel like we are rushing a bit too further to a reality.
Bofuri Season 2 Episode 8

Really simple and fun episode this week. Especially since its mostly really cool still images and flash forwards. Especially Maple Tree just quickly gaining some skill for the preliminary competition and then the preliminary completion where Maple came up with some unique strategies to get some creatures while facing some weak opponents and other people seem to have shown their strengths as well. The highlight of the situation for me was seeing Mii and Payne fight each other in a beam-o-war and then Maple just disrupts it while riding a giant alligator to her whims. This show is so funny on terms there too.
Urusei Yatsura (2022) Episode 22

This show just continues to be a lot of fun and have random space objects ruining everyone’s lives to put a little more care and affection into Lum and Ataru’s life. For instance, a jar turned Lum into a doll sized person. While it was a lie at first, it really did take Ataru’s affection for her to turn her back into a normal size. Then there is the classic sort of magic fox following Shinobu and infected and/or changing people’s lives with magic that was just a lot of fun too. Especially since Shinobu is strong and can handle herself too so the fox never got to save her or show her affection at all. Then the show’s beauty context here the end. It was kind of beautiful stuff honestly. Very solidly funny episode.
Trigun Stampede Episode 11

Well, this was such a wild episode here. One that is kind of a flash back episode but one kind of clever with its ideas and execution as it creates some of the largest stakes possible for the world around it. Especially since Knives is erasing all of Vash’s memories in order to open higher levels of dimensions to give the other plants souls. Yeah, Vash is just being emptied inside and out and its utterly horrifying for it too. Same with Meryl who could do nothing about it and the military force inside of July who can’t handle what Knives is doing either. Uh oh. I also think this will lead to a season 2 that will probably even more off the rails with probably a Milly too. Uh oh.
The Fire Hunter Episode 10 (Season Finale)

Well after watching not much happen for a little while with some very dramatic build up, it felt like everything suddenly happened as the kids completely went feral. Sick Koushi’s sister turned feral after Kira’s horrible mother started to explore into it there as well. Akira and Touko went out to meet some gods and negotiate for humanities existence leading to Kun trying to achieve something for them too. Then after Koushi’s sister saved Touko from a random stream, Touko went haywire too. All while humanity itself is being put into question too as well as the attack on the capital being imminent there too.
Soaring Sky! Precure Episode 7

This cute show continues with Sora’s appearance at school as a transfer student, the show just continues to be really cute. I mean, it is a show for kids but its so good and honest for it too. From Sora not being herself and not trying to say anything about her heroing or being from skyland while just instantly giving those things away during her athletics tests she just completely nailed. Then of course, Sora did get reveal a bit more of her personality and the kids liked her anyway. Especially after Mashiro and Sora turned into their precure forms to save the day too. So just comfiness all around there too in the best way there too. Oh, Kabaton was there again too.
Weekly Ratings
Last year, I started a small graph system that I used to rank the weekly episodes I’ve watched. I’m going to bring it back for this season and see how it goes. I just want to make my opinions a bit more clearer other then “I really like this anime episode that did those things?”. If this helps at all.

Now, this doesn’t mean that the episode on the bottom is bad. Just that that it wasn’t as good as the others. That’s it really. In the end, this is all arbitrary after all just like most of what I blog anyway. It’s just another thing, what is the difference?
So… I’m moving Triggun Stampede and The Fire Hunter until summer. It’s not looking like the strongest season ever, so it’ll be nice to have some backup anime. I’m 2 eps behind on Hirogaru, but that’s manageable. It’s my first season of Precure (after lots of postponing), so I wanna try to tune in until the end. The rest is still fine – Vinland Saga 2, Tomo-chan, Revenger, and BNH6 are still the top dogs of the season, for me anyway.

It’s kind of hard to tell what summer is going to be like since not everything since we are still waiting for some announcements here and there. We shall see how that turns out :).
