I forgot to add some commentary on in this portion for last week, so you got to see some of the filler text I use under each section which is basically screaming. Anyway, I’m glad I got the table contents section to work last week. I wanted to make this more manageable to read somehow and this hopefully did it.

Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 18

After an arc about the tragedy of Gardar, a slave, with all the mistakes he made in his life front and center as he dies with Arnheid next to him and a small rebellion from Einar and Thorfin, everything comes more quickly into focus as Kehil finally makes his return with fear in his eyes from losing everything. Including Arnheid who he beats severely for disobeying him. The man has never been good and will show that as his wealth and his very life is threatened from his zone of safety. At least Leif Erickson and Thorfinn met. But all that talk about Kehil having a history of being a bad ass fighter? Maybe that isn’t a lie now that he pulls out his sword from literally nowhere. Lots to think about and consider as everything continues to fall apart.
Heavenly Delusion Episode 7

A much less world sort of turning episode this week with a little bit less action, but fantastic Kiruko and Maru interactions this week. The two place themselves into the conflict versus the demented Immortal Order who supposedly do all sorts of human experiments for some reason (maybe) and Liviuman who want to take them down for human rights reason (allegedly perhaps). I can’t say whether the Liviuman presenting their case is right or wrong, because they could be decieved.
Regardless of that matter, Kiruko and Maru are sent into the Immortal Order basement to destroy another Man Eat. Another case where it felt too easy and caused unease after the two were used last time to defeat a bear. Like, they could have actually been a trap where the two were used as human experiments. Instead, there was a dying Man Eater in the building that hypnotized Kiruko in one of the most horrifying and believable sequences as her limbs get cut off. Well, she did wake up to a Maru kiss and a mysterious Doctor Usami visit.
A lot of good points to this episode, but once again I think Kiruko and Maru’s interactions are just a fantastic glue for it. Especially since it seems like Kiruko has some sort of attraction to Maru (when he is quiet) and it could be she hasn’t fully taken in everything regarding her new body to accept it yet. That is a complicated matter, but it does show the two are at least somewhat romantically interested mutually even if sometimes it doesn’t seem that way. It’s weird to talk about all of this weird sci fi stuff going on and this is where I end this on. I guess that is just Heavenly Delusion.
Skip and Loafer Episode 6

I feel like this episode was waiting to happen ever since Mitsumi and Shima met each other. But the two are exact opposites in almost every single way with Mitsumi being the straight forward studious type and Shima skipping school from time to time and just their to pass. So that friction did happen and it really hurt seeing these two not connect as much as usual and just be angry at each other. I’m amazed that Shima cares enough to be angry at Mitsumi. The talk at the end was magical though and I don’t think Mitsumi realizes she likes Shima yet. She is a bit too pure at the moment. Maybe she’ll figure it out soon.
Tokyo Mew Mew New Season 2 Episode 6

Tokyo Mew Mew New is really turning into the Lettuce show and I honestly love it. Besides digging into Ryo’s past which was pretty great and Ichigo as a cat shenanigins that…I wish wasn’t there honestly because it means watching Ichigo kissing guys, Mint watched as her brother’s companies project to clean the ocean was turned against them by the aliens and Tokyo Bay looked like it was apart of the second impact. Lettuce found the Aqua Mew and clean up the mess in seconds. All while the other girls can’t do a thing and Ichigo is held back by Blue Knight. A bit of a mixed bag of an episode this time unfortunately even if this season has been great.
Hell’s Paradise Episode 7

The ideas behind this episode are good because more of the island is explained asthere is a lot of humanity added to the story through this episode from both Sagiri and Gabimaru. Especially around a young immortal girl named Mei and her adoptive plant monster(?) guardian as the different layers of island through its divinity are explained. I didn’t like the two brothers being killed as an example of how powerful they were even if it was meant to display how trouble the island can be. But even through its disjointed nature, it was still a decent episode.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles Episode 6

This episode was more of a plot setting up episode then anything else. Especially since this episode is mostly a long fight with Mashle against this second year called Silva. First our friend dot takes ten hits of iron or steel popping out of the ground and then Mashle goes in and just wipes the floor easily against Silva with even some bits of gloating and even defeating a monster like it was nothing. I did like the sorting scene too and the mysterious background with some evil there too. So a lot of interesting things going on with decent action animation.
BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls’ Story- Season 2 Episode 6

This episode wasn’t what I thought was going to happen with this show because it so was so much more serious. Birdie’s match against Remalda was a foot note because didn’t even see the ending at all. Ichina just moves in at Eve’s orphanage because she can get there now that the mafia isn’t after Eve and they can practice for all they want. Now the drama is on Aoi as she knows her father is in the hospital and she can’t focus on playing in the Japanese open at all until Amuro shows up at the end in a wheel chair. Now it is time for Aoi to make her run and Eve to play in the European open very soon in the future. Sounds like a lot of fun.
A Galaxy Next Door Episode 6

Another episode for this show that I can’t help but really like. Especially the nature of Goshiki is explored a bit more from how she was treated as fragile from being an actual princess to nowhere she is away from home and is struggling to find more manga assistant rolls from not knowing how to interact with people. So there is that constant bit of miscommunication from the two being from different backgrounds and seeing things in different ways. Also, Ichirou’s 80 page manga about why he likes Goshiki is such a chad move and I’m glad his manga got approval for being romantic. Plus, the meat date with the two kids as so good too. Just pure sweetness.
Soaring Sky! Precure Episode 15

This episode was a lot. Holy crap man because I had a feeling that Sora and friends would return to Earth together. This wasn’t how I thought it would happen. After the Azure Knights defeat Ranborg after Ranborg alongside Shalala and Sora helping the Hinter Lands under patrol, Battamonda sets up a huge Ranborg right above the kingdom of Skyland which was defeated through not only Cure Sky and Cure Prism’s attack, but through Shalala’s supposed sacrifice. Also, the King and Queen are under a spell and can’t wake up. The only hope is Yoyo and they make the return to Shishiron City. Man, such heavy stuff.
My Home Hero Episode 7

Well, this was an episode to air on mother’s day. Mainly because Kasen, Reika’s mother visits Kyouichi Majima’s mother to plant evidence of Nobuto’s murder but she doesn’t after hearing about Kyouichi’s backstory with their restaurant being taken over by a criminal organization and how Kyouichi is “independent” now but we all know he is apart of that criminal organization today trying to kill them. Literally, this episode is way more intense because the drama is somehow more dire then ever before even with our two parents being able to read Nobuto’s email and Reika is involved now. There is a way through here even if the stakes don’t feel like they have changed despite some new information because it doesn’t change the scope.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Season 2 Recap

Booooooo
Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage Episode 5

After last episode’s heaviness, this episode had a lot of shorter vignettes that started a bit more dramatic and then slowly decreased it as time went on. First part was an aftermath of Ouken as his friend Fren is a monste rand wants to leave the country in order to find a cure for Ouken. So there is some political intrigue and good/happy endings regarding all of then. Then we Despa’s horse getting back into shape which felt like a cartoon episode of a different show that I can dig. Oh my goodness, the last portion with Hokuro was so good. It was just a good time.
I’m falling behind on my anime watching a little this week, but it was fun to get some sneak peaks of the episodes I’ll be seeing soon. Thanks for the reviews! Lol, I particularly liked the deep and insightful analysis of the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Season 2 Recap. Two thumbs up, awesome review!

Someone once said, it ain’t over till it’s over. The brothers in Hell’s Paradise may have been beaten senseless by that god-poser and thrown into a pit full of plants that are trying to eat them, but they aren’t dead just yet. I have no idea who, if anyone, is really going to survive this show, but I don’t think that’s how they’re going out, not just yet.
I found it interesting that they had Yuzuriha actually use her ninjutsu, but kept if off-screen. It seems water-based, as opposed to our lead hero’s fire-based powers, but it’s the fact that we didn’t get to see it which makes me think they’re waiting for a more dramatic reveal, like, say, if she betrays the others and we have a fire vs water fight, where we don’t know what she can really do.

I hope her ninjutsu doesn’t turn out to be water. that actually kind of sounds lame perhaps. Hmmmm
